This Tabriz rug was made by the Pirouzian family, who are very well known in the rug business for their quality and workmanship. If you look at the last picture, you will see the little signature, which is also a rarity in Mahi rugs. The design in this Tabriz rug is called Mahi and it is one the best known designs in Persian rugs. Extremely popular with collector's, these pieces are great for high volume areas and the design is such that it will hide any spills and stains. I have one myself in the living room and I would never dream to get rid of it.
About Pirouzian rugs:
The Pirouzian family is very well known in the Persian rug industry and they are the most respected and famous Tabriz Mahi weavers. It is thanks to my family's long business relationship with the Pirouzians that I am able to offer these fine pieces and they are truly remarkable. Unlike most other Mahi rugs, the Pirouzian rugs tend to offer very unique variations of this classical design and the workmanship is of the highest quality. It is not uncommon to find much more silk in them than compared to other Mahi rugs and the Kurkwool is always of the highest and finest quality. Also, every Pirouzian Mahi rug features the family signature, which is also extremely rare among Mahi rugs.
