Nain rugs are made near and in the city of Isfahan and they come in various types of quality like most other Persian carpets. The Nain rugs that I feature are made of a very high quality and to have over 600 kpsi is not unusual. To begin with, all of my Nain oriental carpets are 6-lah quality and I always look for unique designs like this one. This large Tabriz Persian carpet features a dome shaped design known as Ghombad Faraji. It is a very rare variation of the main Gombardeh design and extremely hard to find in oriental rugs. Typically, this design is only made in very high quality 60raj+ Tabriz Persian rugs, but I have been able to offer similar Tabriz carpets in larger sizes. Like all of my other 50 raj Tabriz rugs, this carpet is designed to be a showpiece and also very durable. Among the most popular Persian carpet designs in the dome shaped Gombad pattern of this Tabriz oriental rug. The Persian rugs with the Gombardeh design is based on the artwork of ceilings of mosques and are often very geometric with a cicular medaillion in the center. Most Gombad oriental carpets feature many different colors and the design is such that it focuses on the center and then works outwards. One of most unique Nain Persian rugs is this large round Nain oriental carpet with a rare design and a 9Lah quality. Round Nain rugs are very hard to find and the high end Nain carpets are rarely ever round. In fact, this is the first time that I was able to find a decent round Nain in this large size and I was also taken back by the unique design. Unfortunately, I have not been able to offer more of these rare round oriental rugs, but I still hope to be able to offer more unique Nain carpets in the years to come. The term LAH refers to the number of strands per fringe and the smaller the number, the finer the rug. All of my Persian Nain carpets are extremely fine pieces and this is the first Nain carpet with a genuine 4-Lah quality and over 600 knots per square inch making it as fine as many of the pure silk Persian carpets you see in stores. Twin Persian rugs are rare and most of them are in offered in smaller sizes like this Tabriz carpet set. Since all genuine Persian carpets are handmade, it is very difficult to create these twin sets, unless the weaver is very skilled. The most common method of creating twin Persian carpets is to weave a very long piece and then cut it in the middle. After the rug is cut in half, the fringes are added to the other half of the carpets and they are sold as twin set. Very rare oval Tabriz Persian carpet with a metal foundation in a small size, which I have not been able to replace for a couple of years now.
