MP Persian Rug Imports

Quality Service Uniqueness Value
Another popular design in my Persian rug is the Tabriz Heriz oriental rugs, which feature a very geometric pattern very different from most other Persian carpets. The Heriz design comes from the region that is slightly to the northeast of Tabriz and gets it's influence from the Russian Kasak rugs. As you can see, there are no round edges in these Persian carpets to and especially the high end Tabriz oriental rugs with this design feature lots of silk highlights. The colors in this Persian rug design can vary and what you see here is a typical Heriz Tabriz Oriental carpet with the very dark main color and lots of bright silk highlights. 10 feet round large Tabriz Persian carpet with a solid design, which is very rare in large round Persian carpets like this Tabriz rug. Most Persian carpets feature a large medaillion and to find one like this Tabriz rug and in this 50 raj quality is very rare. The design and quality make it perfect for a dining room or any other area, where a large round carpet is needed to be both beautiful and durable. Rare oval Qum Persian rugs like this piece are hard to find and among the finest oriental carpets. This is one of several silk Persian Qum carpets that I have been able to offer and as with all of my other Qum rugs it is made of the highest quality silk and meant as a showpiece. Qum carpets are unfortunately often copied in other countries, but only genuine Qum rugs will maintain there value and beauty. Very Fine Persian Isfahan carpet with a picturial and star shaped design, which is very hard to find in Oriental rugs. Even though my specialty is in Tabriz and Qom Persian rugs, I am also on occasion able to offer other types of oriental carpets like this Isfahan rug. Picturial rugs are sought after for their uniqueness and are often hang on walls or even framed. Most of my oriental carpets sell very quickly due to my passion for quality and they often keep their value as they get older.

Metal Rug Information

RUGS WITH A GOLD/SILVER METAL FOUNDATION

There are typically a number of goldmetal and/or silvermetal rugs in my collection, and I thought you may be interested in some additional information since it may be the first time that you have ever seen one.

These pieces are purchased from some of the best weavers in Tabriz. There are only a handful of weavers that have the skills to make these rare pieces and my family has been doing business for so long with them that whenever they finish one piece, they contact us first. Reason for this is pretty simple. Every one claims years of loyalty, but the truth is that we pay them more than what they would get from many of the local wholesalers in the bazaars. Most retailers will consider themselves to be lucky to have maybe one or two of these rugs in their inventory, but I'm fortunate to be able to get them much more frequently. The metal is typically added to the cotton or silk foundation and it is designed to give the rug a shiny luster. Basically, the metal is a string the thickness of a yarn and it is added to the foundation. Unlike ordinary rugs, the weaver has to make a double foundation, which means that two foundations are placed on top of each other. This is necessary since the rug will not have a pile is parts of the rug. Only after the entire foundation has been completed will the pile be added with the idea that the metal foundation will surround the wool. This gives the rug several layers and it appears at times that the wool is floating on top of a shiny metal.
Due to the extensive work and precise details, these pieces are very expensive and are truly collector's pieces. They are perfectly fine to walk on, but I would recommend them for formal rooms or for walls. Keep in mind that these rugs are investment rugs, meaning that they will not loose their value like most things in life. Some clients have framed them, but as a rule all you need is a special place and with some direct light you will have an amazing looking piece.

Below are examples of one of my Tabriz rugs with the metal and the close-ups should explain how the metal looks. If you need any assistance, please feel free to let me know.

Sincerely,

MikePanah
