Notes: This Tabriz Persian rug features a foundation made of cotton and a gold colored metal. As a result, only 50% of the Persian Tabriz rug has a pile with the idea being that the kurkwool will be surrounded by the metal foundation. By leaving the foundation exposed in many areas, the rug appears to have several layers and it's very valuable. These Tabriz rugs are truly collector pieces and are to be treated as such. The quality is very high and they are perfectly fine to walk on, but ideal you would place them in a room like a formal living room or a wall. In addition, there are large areas of the pile completely made of silk. The combination of the silk and the goldmetal foundation makes for a wonderful piece.
