Notes: This Tabriz Persian rug is very fine and the artwork is extremely
detailed. I'm still amazed by the looks of this Persian rug. Everything about it
is unique. I purchased one just like it about 2 years ago and it was such a
popular piece that we tracked down the weaver and begged for another similar
one. If you look at the close up of the medaillion, you will find detailed
artwork of the ancient Persian empire. There is a small round rug that was made
be the same weaver with the same pictures. A lot of silk was added to the
highlights and the center features the ruins of Persepolis, and the entire sky
is made of pure silk. Typically, Tabriz rugs in this size and quality would be
much cheaper, but unfortunately fine pieces like this one are very rare and tend
to be much more expensive. The good news is that with rare pieces like this, you
can expect it to keep it's value and there is a large demand for high end Tabriz
rugs with this design.
