Age: Approx. 50 years old!!
Notes: This Qom rug is truly a collector's piece
and one of the few older pieces from my family's collection. It was
made about 50 years ago and has been showcased in my father's
business for many years. Now that he is retired, we have decided to
offer some of these very special pieces, since he can not take them
all home.
One of the very unique features is the solid
background, which you can see in the last picture. The entire rug
was made with this solid gold-colored background and only parts of
the rug have the silk pile, which gives it an uneven surface. It
looks like the silk is floating on top of the backing. Inside the
border, you can see branches of a tree with birds in it and the
border itself is made of leaves. This Qom rug is extremely rare and
I have not seen one like it for many years. Due to the fact that it
was showcased and has never been sold, it is in perfect shape and
has aged very gracefully. There are no flaws or damages.
